দান পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর লোকরা দান শহরে মূর্ত্তিগুলো প্রতিষ্ঠা করল| গের্শোমের পুত্র য়োনাথনকে তারা যাজক করল| গের্শোম হচ্ছে মোশির পুত্র| য়োনাথন ও তার পুত্ররাই ছিল দানদের যাজক| যতদিন না ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বন্দী করে বাবিলে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছিল ততদিন পর্য়ন্ত তারা যাজক ছিল|

পাউণ্ড রূপো নিয়ে একজন স্বর্ণকারকে দিল| স্বর্ণকার সেই রূপো দিয়ে একটা মূর্ত্তি গড়ল| মূর্ত্তিটা রাখা হল মীখার বাড়িতে| 5 মীখার একটা মন্দির ছিল| সেখানে বিভিন্ন মূর্ত্তির পূজা হোত| মীখা একটা এফোদ তৈরী করেছিল| সে আরও কয়েকটা পারিবারিক মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করেছিল| তারপর মীখা তার একজন পুত্রকে তার যাজক হিসেবে নির্বাচন করল|
Judges 17:3
মাযের কাছে মীখা 28 পাউণ্ড রূপো ফেরত দিয়ে দিল| মা বলল, “প্রভুর কাছে আমার এই রূপো হবে বিশেষ একটা উপহার| আমার পুত্রকে এটা দেব| সে একটা মূর্ত্তি গড়ে সেটা রূপো দিয়ে মুড়ে দেবে| তাই বলছি বাছা, এখন এই রূপো তোমার হাতেই ফিরিযে দিচ্ছি|”

আবার ইস্রায়েলীয়রা পাপ কাজে মেতে উঠল| প্রভু তাদের লক্ষ্য করলেন| তাই প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের উপর 40 বছর ধরে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের শাসন করার ভার দিলেন|

Deuteronomy 27:15
‘য়ে কেউ মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করে এবং সেগুলি গোপন জায়গায় রাখে, সেই অভিশপ্ত হয়| ঐ মূর্ত্তিগুলি শিল্পীর দ্বারা খোদিত বা ছাঁচে ঢালা মূর্ত্তি ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়| প্রভু এগুলিকে ঘৃণা করেন|’ তখন সমস্ত লোক উত্তরে বলবে, ‘আমেন!’

“প্রভু, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর, তোমাদের য়ে দেশ দিচ্ছেন সেখানে তোমরা তোমাদের গোষ্ঠীর এমন কোন পুরুষ অথবা স্ত্রীলোককে পেতে পার য়ে প্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছে বা প্রভুর নিয়ম ভঙ্গ করেছে
Leviticus 26:1
“তোমাদের নিজেদের জন্য প্রতিমূর্ত্তি গড়বে না| তাদের প্রণাম করবার জন্যে তোমাদের দেশে মূর্ত্তি বা স্মৃতিফলকসমুহ গড়বে না| কেন? কারণ আমিই প্রভু তোমাদের ঈশ্বর!

“তোমরা অবশ্যই অন্য কোন মূর্তি গড়বে না য়েগুলো আকাশের, ভূমির অথবা জলের নীচের কোন প্রাণীর মত দেখতে|
Exodus 18:3
যিথ্রো তার সঙ্গে শুধু মোশির স্ত্রীকেই নয়, মোশির দুই পুত্রকেও নিয়ে গিয়েছিল| প্রথম পুত্রের নাম গের্শোন কারণ সে যখন জন্মায় তখন মোশি বলেছিল, “আমি পরদেশে প্রবাসী|”
