ইহুদী ধর্মের রীতি অনুসারে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে হাত পা ধোযার জন্য সেই জায়গায় পাথরের ছটা জলের জালা বসানো ছিল৷ এই জালাগুলির প্রতিটিতে আশি থেকে একশ লিটার জল ধরত৷

কারণ লোকদের কাছে মোশি বিধি-ব্যবস্থা থেকে সমস্ত আজ্ঞা পাঠ করে পরে তিনি জল ও রক্তবর্ণ মেষলোম আর একগোছা এসোবের ঘাস ব্যবহার করে গোবত্‌স ও ছাগদের রক্ত সেই পুস্তকটিতে ও লোকদের গায়ে ছিটিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন৷
