Jeremiah 45
1 য়োশিযের পুত্র যিহোয়াকীম তখন যিহূদার রাজা| যিহোয়াকীমের রাজত্বকালের চার বছরের মাথায় ভাব্বাদী যিরমিয় নেরিযের পুত্র বারূককে এই বার্তাগুলি বলেছিল| বারূক একটি খাতায় সেগুলি লিখেছিল| যিরমিয় বারূককে বলেছিল,
2 “এই হল প্রভু ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, তোমাদের সম্বন্ধে বলেছেন|
3 ‘বারূক তুমি বলেছিলে: সেটা আমার জন্য খুব খারাপ| প্রভু আমার যন্ত্রণায় দুঃখ য়োগ করছেন| আমি আমার যন্ত্রণার দরুন ক্লান্ত এবং বিশ্রাম পাচ্ছি না|”‘
4 প্রভু বলেছিলেন, “যিরমিয়, বারূককে একথা জানিয়ে দাও: ‘প্রভু যা বললেন তা হল, আমি যা বপন করেছি তা আমিই আবার উপড়ে ফেলব| আমি যা সৃষ্টি করেছি আমিই আবার তা নষ্ট করে ফেলব| যিহূদার সর্বত্র এই ঘটনা ঘটাবো|
5 বারূক, তুমি তোমার নিজের জন্য বিরাট একটা কিছুর খোঁজ করছ| কিন্তু এমন বিরাট জিনিষ খুঁজো না| কারণ আমি সমস্ত লোকের ওপর মারাত্মক ঘটনা ঘটাবো|’ কিন্তু তোমাকে আমি জীবিত ছেড়ে দেব, তুমি যেখানে খুশী পালিয়ে য়েতে পারো|”‘ প্রভু এই কথাগুলি বলেছেন|
1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;
3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The Lord saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
