এক দিন সন্হেরীব তার দেবতা নিষ্রোকের মন্দিরে গিয়ে তার উপাসনা করছিল| সেই সময় তার দুই পুত্র অদ্রম্মেলক ও শরেত্সর তাকে তরবারির আঘাতে হত্যা করল| তারপর তারা অরারট দেশে পালাল| আর সন্হেরীব পুত্র এসর-হদ্দোন অশূরের নতুন রাজা হল|

Isaiah 36:18
হিষ্কিয়কে তোমাদের প্রতারণা করতে দিও না| সে বলে, “প্রভু আমাদের রক্ষা করবে|” কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করি, অন্য দেশ সমূহের কোন দেবতা কি অশূরদের রাজার হাত থেকে তাদের দেশসমূহ রক্ষা করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে? না!
Isaiah 36:15
হিষ্কিয়ের কথা বিশ্বাস কর না| সে বলবে, ‘প্রভুর প্রতি আস্থাশীল হও! প্রভু আমাদের রক্ষা করবেন| প্রভু অশূরদের রাজাকে এই শহরকে পরাস্ত করতে দেবেন না|’ এসব কথা বিশ্বাস করবে না|
