এরপর ইষ্রা ইলিয়াশীবের পুত্র য়িহোহাননের ঘরে প্রবেশ করলেন| য়েটুকু সময় ইষ্রা ওখানে ছিলেন, উনি কোন খাবার খেলেন না বা কিছু পান করলেন না, কারণ প্রত্যাগত বন্দীদের ঈশ্বরের বিধির প্রতি অনাস্থা বশতঃ তিনি তখনও দুঃখিত ও শোকসন্তপ্ত ছিলেন|

প্রভুর মন্দিরের সামনে কাঁদতে কাঁদতে ইষ্রা প্রার্থনা করছিলেন ও দোষ স্বীকার করছিলেন| সেই সময়ে বহু ইস্রায়েলীয নারী, পুরুষ ও শিশু তাঁর চারপাশে জড়ো হয়েছিল| তারাও কাঁদছিল|

Ezra 9:4
তখন ধর্মভীরু সমস্ত ব্যক্তি ভয়ে কাঁপতে শুরু করল| ওরা ভয় পেয়েছিল কারণ বন্দীদশা থেকে মুক্তিলাভ করে য়েসব ইহুদীরা ফিরে এসেছিল, তারা ঈশ্বরের প্রতি অনুগত ছিল না| ক্ষুদ্ধ ও বিমূঢ় অবস্থায় আমি বৈকালিক উত্সর্গ অনুষ্ঠান পর্য়ন্ত বসে থাকলাম| ওই সমস্ত ব্যক্তিরা আমার চারপাশে জড়ো হল|

Exodus 34:28
মোশি সেখানে প্রভুর সঙ্গে 40 দিন ও 40 রাত বাস করেছিল| মোশি 40 দিন কোন কিছু ভোজন করল না বা জল পান করল না| মোশি দুটি পাথরের ফলকের ওপর চুক্তির কথাগুলি লিখেছিল|
