Ecclesiastes 9:2
কিন্তু সবার ক্ষেত্রে একই জিনিস ঘটে| ভাল ও মন্দ উভয় ধরণের লোকরাই মারা যান| শুচি ও অশুচি দুধরণের লোকের কাছেই মৃত্যু আসে| যারা ঈশ্বরকে নৈবেদ্য দেয় না তাদের মতো যারা ঈশ্বরকে নৈবেদ্য দেয় তারাও মারা যায়| এক জন ভাল লোকও এক জন পাপীর মত মারা যায়| য়ে ব্যক্তি ঈশ্বরের কাছে বিশেষ প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয় সেও সেই ব্যক্তির মতো মারা যায়, য়ে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিতে ভয় পায়|

এক জন মানুষ যদি ভাল কাজ করে ঈশ্বরকে সন্তুষ্ট করতে পারে, তাহলে ঈশ্বর তাকে জ্ঞান, বিদ্যা ও আনন্দ দেন| কিন্তু য়ে পাপী সে শুধুই সংগ্রহ আর বহনের কাজ পাবে| মন্দ লোকের কাছ থেকে নিয়ে ঈশ্বর ভালো লোককে পুরস্কার দেন| কিন্তু সমস্ত কাজই অর্থহীন| সবই হাওযার পিছনে ছোটা|

কেন দুষ্ট লোকরা দীর্ঘ জীবন বাঁচে? কেন তারা বৃদ্ধ হয় ও সফল হয়?
