1 ভগিনী আমার, বধূ আমার, আমি আমার বাগানে প্রবেশ করব| আমি আমার সুগন্ধি দ্রব্যাদি মশলাপাতিসহ সংগ্রহ করব| আমি আমার মৌচাক মধুসহ পান করব| আমি আমার দু3 ও দ্রাক্ষারস পান করব|বন্ধুগণ, খাও, পান কর! হৃদয় তৃপ্ত করে ভালোবাসা পান কর!
2 আমি ঘুমিয়ে রযেছি কিন্তু আমার অন্তর জেগে রযেছে| শোন, আমার প্রিয়তম দুযারে করাঘাত করছে| “আমার কাছে উন্মুক্ত হও, বধূ আমার, আমার প্রিযা, কপোতি আমার, পূর্ণমূর্তি আমার! আমার মাথা শিশিরে সিক্ত হয়ে গেছে| আমার মাথার চুল রাতের কুযাশায আর্দ্র হয়ে গেছে|”
3 “আমি আমার বসন ত্যাগ করেছি| আবার আমি তা পরতে চাই না| আমি আমার পা দুটি ধুয়ে ফেলেছি| আমি তাতে আর কাদা লাগাতে চাই না|”
4 আমার প্রিয়তম দ্বারে ছিদ্রে হাত রাখলো এবং তার জন্য আমার অন্তর ব্যাকুল হল|
5 প্রিয়তমের জন্য খুলে দিতে আমি উঠলাম এবং আমার হাত থেকে সুগন্ধি পড়ছিল, এবং আমার হাতের তরল সুগন্ধি আমার আঙ্গুল দিয়ে দরজার খিলের ওপর গড়িযে পড়ছিল|
6 আমি আমার প্রিয়তমের কাছে উন্মুক্ত হয়েছিলাম কিন্তু আমার প্রিয়তম চলে গিয়েছিল! সে যখন ফিরে গেল তখন আমার প্রায় মরার মত অবস্থা| আমি তাকে খুঁজেছিলাম কিন্তু আমি তাকে খুঁজে পাই নি| আমি তাকে ডেকেছিলাম কিন্তু সে আমাকে সাড়া দেয় নি|
7 য়ে প্রহরীরা নগর পাহারা দিচ্ছিলো তারা আমাকে দেখতে পেলো| তারা আমায় আঘাত করলো| তারা আমায় আহত করলো| প্রাচীরের রক্ষীরা আমার কাপড়চোপড় কেড়ে নিল|
8 হে জেরুশালেমের কন্যাগণ, তোমাদের বলে রাখছি, যদি আমার প্রিয়তমকে খুঁজে পাও তাকে বলো, আমি তার প্রতি ভালবাসায কাতর|
9 সকল নারীদের মধ্যে হে সুন্দরী শ্রেষ্ঠা, কোন্ দিক থেকে তোমার প্রিয়তম অন্যান্য প্রেমিকদের চেয়ে ভাল? অন্যান্য প্রেমিকদের চেয়ে সে কি ভাবে ভাল য়ে তুমি আমাদের এমন প্রতিশ্রুতি করতে বলছো?
10 আমার প্রিয়তম উজ্জ্বল এবং তামাটে বর্ণ| সে 10,000 লোকের মধ্যে বিশিষ্ট|
11 তার মাথা খাঁটি সোনার মতোই উন্নত| তার কোঁকড়ানো চুল দাঁড়কাকের রঙের মতই মিশ্কালো|
12 তার দুটি চোখ ঝর্ণার ধারের কপোতের মত| দুধের সাগরে কপোতের মত, অলঙ্কারের মত|
13 তার গালদুটি একটি মসলার বাগানের মত, যা সুগন্ধ দেয়| পদ্মফুলের পাপড়ির মত তার ওষ্ঠাধর থেকে তরল সুগন্ধি গড়িযে পড়ে|
14 তার বাহু রত্নখচিত সোনার দণ্ডের মত| তার উদর হাতির দাঁতের তৈরী এবং নীল মরকতে ঢাকা|
15 তার পা দুটি সোনার পাযার ওপরে মর্মর স্তম্ভের মত| তার চেহারা লিবানোনের শ্রেষ্ঠতম গাছের মত !
16 জেরুশালেমের যুবতী রমণীরা, তার মুখই মিষ্টস্বাদস্বরূপ| সে সবকিছু নিয়েই মনোরম| এই আমার প্রেমিক| এই আমার প্রিয়|
1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

1 এই বই হল আদম পরিবারের বিষয নিয়ে| ঈশ্বর নিজের ছাঁচে মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছিলেন|
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 ঈশ্বর মানুষকে পুরুষ ও স্ত্রীরূপে সৃষ্টি করেছিলেন| এবং সেই সৃষ্টির দিনে ঈশ্বর আশীর্বাদ করে তাদের নাম দিলেন “আদম|”
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 আদমের যখন 130 বছর বয়স তখন তার আর একটি পুত্র হল| পুত্রটিকে দেখতে হুবহু আদমের মতো| আদম তার নাম রাখলেন শেথ|
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 শেথের জন্মের পর 800 বছর আদম বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| এই সময়ের মধ্যে আদমের আরও পুত্রকন্যা হল|
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 সুতরাং আদম মোট 930 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হল|
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 শেথের যখন 105 বছর বয়স তখন তাঁর একটি পুত্র হয়| তার নাম রাখা হয় ইনোশ|
And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 ইনোশের জন্মের পরে শেথ 807 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| ইতিমধ্যে শেথের আরও পুত্রকন্যা হয়|
And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 সুতরাং শেথ বেঁচ্ছেিলেন মোট 912 বছর| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়|
And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 ইনোশের যখন 90 বছর বয়স তখন তাঁর কৈনন নামে একটি পুত্র হয়|
And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:

And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 সুতরাং ইনোশ মোট 905 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়|
And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:

And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:

And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.

And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:

And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:

And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 সুতরাং য়েরদ মোট 962 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়|
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 হনোকের যখন 65 বছর বয়স তখন মথূশেলহ নামে তাঁর একটি পুত্র হয়|
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 মথূশেলহর জন্মের পর হনোক আরও 300 বছর ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে পদচারণা করেন| ইতিমধ্যে তাঁর আরও পুত্রকন্যা হয়|
And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 সুতরাং হনোক মোট 365 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন|
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 একদিন হনোক ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে পদচারণা করতে করতে অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেলেন| ঈশ্বর তাঁকে নিয়ে নিলেন|
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
25 মথূশেলহর যখন 187 বছর বয়স তখন তাঁর লেমক নামে একটি পুত্র হয়|
And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 লেমকের জন্মের পর মথূশেলহ 782 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| ইতিমধ্যে তাঁর আরও পুত্রকন্যা হয়|
And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 সুতরাং মথূশেলহ মোট 969 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়|
And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 লেমকের যখন 182 বছর বয়স তখন তাঁর একটি পুত্র হল|
And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 লেমক পুত্রের নাম রাখলেন নোহ| তিনি বললেন, “ঈশ্বর ভূমিকে অভিশাপ দিয়েছেন বলে কৃষকরূপে আমাদের কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হয়| কিন্তু নোহ আমাদের বিশ্রাম দেবে|”
And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 নোহের জন্মের পর লেমক 595 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| ইতিমধ্যে তাঁর আরও পুত্রকন্যা হয়|
And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 সুতরাং লেমক মোট 777 বছর বেঁচ্ছেিলেন| তারপর তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়|
And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 নোহর 500 বছর বয়সে শেম, হাম এবং য়েফত্ নামে তিনটি পুত্র হয়|
And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
