মিশরে যারা চলে এসেছে তাদের আমি চরম শাস্তি দেব| তাদের শাস্তি দেবার জন্য আমি তরবারি, অনাহার এবং মারাত্মক রোগসমূহের ব্যবহার প্রযোগ করব, ঠিক য়েমন আমি জেরুশালেমকে শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম|

জেরুশালেমে যারা বাস করে তারা মরবে| তারা মারা যাবে তরবারির আঘাতে, নাহলে মহামারীতে নয়তো অনাহারে| কিন্তু কেউ যদি জেরুশালেম থেকে বেরিয়ে গিয়ে বাবিল সৈন্যদের কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করে তাহলে সে বেঁচে যাবে| পুরো শহরটাই বাবিলীয সৈন্য ঘিরে রেখেছে| কেউ বাইরে য়েতে পারবে না এবং শহরের ভেতর খাবার আনতে পারবে না| কিন্তু কেউ যদি বাইরে যায় এবং বাবিলের সৈন্যের কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করে, সে তার জীবন রক্ষা করবে|

তাদের বিরোধিতা করার জন্য আমি তরবারি, অনাহার এবং রোগ পাঠাব| আমি তাদের যতক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত না প্রত্যেকে মারা যায় ততক্ষণ আক্রমণ করব| তাহলে তারা এই দেশ যা আমি তাদের এবং তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছিলাম সেখান থেকে নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যাবে|”

“প্রভু সর্বশক্তিমান, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেছেন: ‘আমি জেরুশালেমের বিরুদ্ধে আমার রোধ দেখিয়েছিলাম| জেরুশালেমবাসীদের আমি শাস্তিও দিয়েছি| একই ভাবে মিশরে য়েতে ইচ্ছুক প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধেও আমি আমার রোধ দর্শন করাবো| লোক খারাপ ঘটনার উদাহরণ হিসেবে তোমাদের কথা উল্লেখ করবে| তোমরা হবে অভিশপ্ত| লোকরা তোমাদের জন্য লজ্জিত হবে| তোমাদের অপমান করবে| এবং তোমরা আর কোন দিন যিহূদাকে স্বচক্ষে দেখতে পাবে না|’
