তাই আমি ঠিক করেছিলাম দ্রাক্ষারস পান করে শরীরকে ও জ্ঞানলাভ করে মনকে ভাল রাখব| আমি এরকম বোকামি করেছিলাম কারণ আমি সুখের সন্ধান পেতে চেয়েছিলাম| আমি বুঝতে চেয়েছিলাম এই অল্প দিনের জীবনে মানুষের কি করা উচিত্‌|

উপদেশক 12:13
এই বইতে যা লেখা তার থেকে কি শিক্ষা আমরা নেবো? মানুষের কাছে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ হল ঈশ্বরকে শ্রদ্ধা করা ও তার আদেশ মান্য করা| কেন? কারণ মানুষ যা কিছু করে ঈশ্বর তা জানেন, সেটা গুপ্ত কিছু হলেও ঈশ্বর তা জানেন|

উপদেশক 6:12
এক জন ব্যক্তির অযোগ্য জীবনের ব্যপ্তিতে তার পক্ষে সবচেয়ে ভালো কি তা কে জানে? তার জীবন এক ছায়ার মতো অতিবাহিত হয়| কেউ বলতে পারে না এই পৃথিবীতে পর মূহুর্ত্তে কি হবে|

প্রবচন 31:4
লমূয়েল, রাজাদের পক্ষে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করা বিজ্ঞজনোচিত নয়, শাসকের পক্ষে সুরা পান করা বিজ্ঞজনোচিত নয়|

আমি অধ্যযণ করেছি ও অনেক চেষ্টা করেছি সত্যিকারের জ্ঞান খুঁজে পেতে| আমি সব কিছুর ভেতরকার ব্যাখ্যা খুঁজে পেতে চেয়েছি| আমি কি শিখলাম? আমি জানলাম অসত্‌ হওয়া বোকামো, মূর্খের মতো কাজ করা পাগলামো|

উপদেশক 7:18
তুমি এদিক ওদিক দুদিকে থাকার চেষ্টা কর| এমনকি ঈশ্বরের অনুসরণকারীরাও কিছু ভাল ও কিছু মন্দ কাজ করে থাকে|

উপদেশক 3:12
আমি জানি য়ে মানুষ সারা জীবন সুখে ও আনন্দে বেঁচে থাকতে পারবে- এটাই সর্বমহত্‌ কাজ|

উপদেশক 2:24
আমার থেকে বেশী আর কে জীবনকে উপভোগ করার চেষ্টা করেছে? এবং সব শেষে আমি এই শিক্ষাই পেয়েছিলাম|

যারা অতিরিক্ত দ্রাক্ষারস পান করে এবং জোরালো পানীয় গ্রহণ করে তাদের পক্ষে খুব খারাপ হবে|
