তখন যিপ্তহর ওপর প্রভুর আত্মা ভর করলেন| গিলিয়দ এবং মনঃশি প্রদেশের ভেতর দিয়ে যিপ্তহ হেঁটে গেল| সে গিলিয়দের মিস্পা শহরে পৌঁছাল| সেখান থেকে সে অম্মোনদের দেশে গেল|

অমাসয় ছিলেন সেই তিরিশ জন বীরের নেতা| তখন আত্মার ভর হলে তিনি বলে উঠলেন:“দায়ূদ আমরা তোমার পক্ষে| আমরা তোমার সঙ্গে আছি| হে য়িশযের পুত্র- শান্তি! তোমার শান্তি হোক| এবং যারা তোমায় সাহায্য করে তাদের শান্তি হোক| কারণ তোমার ঈশ্বর তোমায় সাহায্য করেন|”দায়ূদ তখন এই সমস্ত ব্যক্তিকেই তাঁর দলে স্বাগত জানিয়ে, তাঁদের ওপর নিজের সেনাবাহিনীর দায়িত্ব দিলেন|
