দায়ূদ সোবার সেনাবাহিনীকে যুদ্ধে হারানোর পর রষোণ কিছু লোকদের জোগাড় করে একটা ছোট সেনাবাহিনীর প্রধান হয়ে বসেন| এরপর রষোণ দম্মেশকে গিয়ে সেখানকার রাজা হন|

বিন্হদদ তাঁকে বললেন, “আহাব, আমার পিতা তোমার পিতার কাছ থেকে য়ে সমস্ত শহর নিয়েছিলেন আমি সেই সমস্তই তোমাকে ফেরত্ দেব| আর তাছাড়া তুমি দম্মেশকে দোকান বসাতে পার য়েমন আমার পিতা শমরিয়ায বসিযে ছিলেন|”আহাব উত্তর দিলেন, “তুমি যদি এই প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও তাহলে আমি তোমাকে মুক্ত করে দিচ্ছি|” তারপর এই দুই রাজার মধ্যে শান্তি চুক্তি সাক্ষরিত হলে রাজা আহাব রাজা বিন্হদদকে মুক্তি দিলেন|

দম্মেশকস্থ সমাজ-গৃহে ইহুদীদের দেবার জন্য মহাযাজকের কাছে চিঠিগুলি চাইলেন, য়েন স্ত্রী হোক বা পুরুষ হোক, খ্রীষ্টের অনুগামী এমন কোন লোককে পেলেই গ্রেপ্তার করে জেরুশালেমে নিয়ে আসতে পারেন৷
