Judges 6:14
প্রভু গিদিয়োনের দিকে ফিরে বললেন, “তোমার নিজের শক্তিকে কাজে লাগাও| যাও, মিদিযনের হাত থেকে ইস্রায়েলবাসীদের রক্ষা করো| এ কাজে আমি তোমাকেই পাঠাচ্ছি|”

পলেষ্টীয়রা হেরে গেল| তারা আর ইস্রায়েলে ঢুকল না| শমূযেলের বাকি জীবনে প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে ছিলেন|

আবার ইস্রায়েলীয়রা পাপ কাজে মেতে উঠল| প্রভু তাদের লক্ষ্য করলেন| তাই প্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের উপর 40 বছর ধরে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের শাসন করার ভার দিলেন|
