பேதுரு அவனை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய வரத்தைப் பணத்தினாலே சம்பாதித்துக்கொள்ளலாமென்று நீ நினைத்தபடியால் உன் பணம் உன்னோடேகூட நாசமாய்ப் போகக்கடவது,

அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனிதன் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்; அவன் நீதியும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவனாகவும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் கொடுப்பவர் வருவார் என்று எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டும் இருந்தான்; பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அவனோடுகூட இருந்தார்.

எருசலேமில் சிமியோன் என்னும் பெயர் கொண்ட ஒரு மனிதன் வாழ்ந்தான். அவன் நல்லவனும், பக்திமானுமாக இருந்தான். தேவன் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு உதவும் காலத்தை சிமியோன் எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தான். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அவனோடு இருந்தார்.
