அதற்குப் பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் மூப்பர் யாவரும் சாட்சிகொடுப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் கையிலே நான் சகோதரருக்கு நிருபங்களை வாங்கிக்கொண்டு தமஸ்குவிலிருக்கிறவர்களும் தண்டிக்கப்படும்படிக்கு, அவர்களைக் கட்டி, எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவரும்படி அவ்விடத்திற்குப்போனேன்.

விடியற்காலமானபோது ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும் பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் கூடிவந்து, தங்கள் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் அவரைக் கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தி:

சவுல் என்பவன் இன்னுங் கர்த்தருடைய சீஷரைப் பயமுறுத்திக் கொலை செய்யும்படி சீறிப் பிரதான ஆசாரியரிடத்திற்குப் போய்;

சகோதரரே, ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியில் பிறந்தவர்களே, தேவனுக்குப் பயந்துநடக்கிறவர்களே, இந்த இரட்சிப்பின் வசனம் உங்களுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

சகோதரரே, பிதாக்களே, நான் இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்போகிற நியாயங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பீர்களாக என்றான்.
