யூதேயா தேசத்தின் ராஜாவாகிய ஏரோதின் நாட்களில், அபியா என்னும் ஆசாரிய வகுப்பில் சகரியா என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஆசாரியன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவன் மனைவி ஆரோனுடைய குமாரத்திகளில் ஒருத்தி, அவள் பேர் எலிசபெத்து.
