புத்திமதிகளைத் தள்ளுகிறவன் தரித்திரத்தையும் இலச்சையையும் அடைவான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக் கவனித்து நடக்கிறவனோ கனமடைவான்.

ஆமோனுடைய மகனாகிய யோசியா என்கிற யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவின் நாட்களில், அவன் அரசாண்ட பதின்மூன்றாம் வருடத்தில் எரேமியாவுக்குக் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை உண்டானது.

கர்த்தர், யூதா நாட்டின் அரசனாக யோசியா இருந்தபோது அந்நாட்களில் எரேமியாவுடன் பேசத்தொடங்கினார். யோசியா, ஆமோன் என்ற பெயருடைய மனிதரின் மகனாகும். கர்த்தர், யோசியாவின் ஆட்சியில் 13வது ஆண்டில் எரேமியாவுடன் பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்.
