அப்பொழுது தரியுராஜா எழுதியனுப்பினதாவது: இப்பொழுதும், நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற தேசாதிபதியாகிய தத்னாயும் சேத்தார்பொஸ்னாயுமாகிய நீங்களும், நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற அப்பற்சாகியரான உங்கள் வகையரா யாவரும் அவ்விடத்தைவிட்டு விலகியிருங்கள்.

அக்காலத்திலே நதிக்கு இப்புறத்தில் இருக்கிற நாடுகளுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய தத்னாய் என்பவனும், சேத்தார் பொஸ்னாயும், அவர்கள் வகையராவும் அவர்களிடத்துக்கு வந்து, இந்த ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவும், இந்த மதிலை எடுப்பிக்கவும் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டவன் யார் என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்டார்கள்.

நதிக்கு இப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற தத்னாய் என்னும் தேசாதிபதியும், சேத்தார் பொஸ்னாயும், நதிக்கு இப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற அப்பற்சாகியரான அவன் வகையராவும், ராஜாவாகிய தரியுவுக்கு எழுதியனுப்பின கடிதத்தின் நகலாவது:

அப்பொழுது அவர்: உன் பேர் இனி James என்னப்படாமல் இஸ்ரவேல் என்னப்படும்; தேவனோடும் மனிதரோடும் போராடி மேற்கொண்டாயே என்றார்.

அந்த மனிதன் அங்கிருக்கிற உங்கள் மற்றச் சகோதரனையும் பென்யமீனையும் உங்களுடனே அனுப்பிவிடும்படிக்கு, சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் அவன் சமுகத்தில் உங்களுக்கு இரக்கங்கிடைக்கப்பண்ணுவாராக; நானோ பிள்ளையற்றுப் போனவனைப்போல் இருப்பேன் என்றான்.

ஆண்டவரே, உமது அடியானின் ஜெபத்தையும், உமது நாமத்துக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிற உமது அடியாரின் ஜெபத்தையும் உமது செவிகள் கவனித்திருப்பதாக; இன்றைக்கு உமது அடியானுக்குக் காரியத்தைக் கைக்கூடி வரப்பண்ணி, இந்த மனுஷனுக்கு முன்பாக எனக்கு இரக்கம் கிடைக்கப்பண்ணியருளும் என்று பிரார்த்தித்தேன். நான் ராஜாவுக்குப் பானபாத்திரக்காரனாயிருந்தேன்.

மனுஷனுடைய கோபம் உமது மகிமையை விளங்கப்பண்ணும்; மிஞ்சுங்கோபத்தை நீர் அடக்குவீர்.

ராஜாவின் இருதயம் கர்த்தரின் கையில் நீர்க்கால்களைப்போலிருக்கிறது; அதைத் தமது சித்தத்தின்படி அவர் திருப்புகிறார்.

கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமான ஞானமுமில்லை, புத்தியுமில்லை, ஆலோசனையுமில்லை.

தேவரீர் ஜனத்தைத் துரத்திவிடுகையில் மட்டாய் அதனோடே வழக்காடுகிறீர்; கொண்டல்காற்றடிக்கிற நாளிலே அவர் தம்முடைய கடுங்காற்றினால் அதை விலக்கிவிடுகிறார்.

கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகவும், தேவனுடைய கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு விரோதமாகவும் பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் எழும்பி நின்று, அதிகாரிகள் ஏகமாய்க் கூட்டங்கூடினார்கள் என்றும் தேவரீர் உம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதின் வாக்கினால் உரைத்தீரே.

இவைகளைக்குறித்து நாம் என்னசொல்லுவோம்? தேவன் நம்முடைய பட்சத்திலிருந்தால் நமக்கு விரோதமாயிருப்பவன் யார்?
