அவர்கள் பாகால்பிராசீமுக்கு வந்தபோது, தாவீது அங்கே அவர்களை முறியடித்து தண்ணீர்கள் உடைந்தோடுகிறதுபோல, தேவன் என் கையினால் என் சத்துருக்களை உடைந்தோடப்பண்ணினாரென்றான்; அதினிமித்தம் அந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் பாகால்பிராசீம் என்னும் பேரிட்டார்கள்.

பிறகு, தாவீதும் அவனது ஆட்களும் பாகால் பிராசீம்வரை சென்றனர். அங்கே தாவீதும், அவனது ஆட்களும் பெலிஸ்தர்களைத் தோற்கடித்தனர். தாவீது அவர்களிடம், “உடைந்த அணையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் பெருக்கெடுத்து வருவதைப்போல, என் எதிரிகளிடமிருந்து தேவன் வெற்றிக் கண்டுள்ளார்! தேவன், இதனை என் மூலம் செய்தார்” என்றான். அதனால் அந்த இடம் பாகால்பிராசீம் என்ற பெயரைப் பெற்றது.
