அப்பொழுது அங்கேயிருந்து உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைத் தேடுவாய்; உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் அவரைத் தேடும்போது, அவரைக் கண்டடைவாய்.

ராஜாவும், அவனோடு யூதாவின் மனிதர்கள் யாவரும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள் அனைவரும், ஆசாரியர்களும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும், சிறியோர்முதல் பெரியோர்வரையுள்ள அனைவரும் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட உடன்படிக்கை புத்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்கள் காதுகள் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.

பிறகு அரசன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குச் சென்றான். யூத ஜனங்களும் எருசலேமிலுள்ள ஜனங்களும் அவனோடு சென்றனர். ஆசாரியர்களும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் ஜனங்களுள் முக்கியமானவர்களும் முக்கியம் இல்லாதவர்களும் அவனோடு சென்றனர். பிறகு அரசன் உடன்படிக்கைப் புத்தகத்தை வாசித்துக்காட்டினான். இந்த சட்டப்புத்தகம் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது. அரசன் அதனை வாசித்தபோது ஜனங்களால் அதனைக் கேட்க முடிந்தது.
