2 நாளாகமம் 33:19
அவனுடைய விண்ணப்பமும், அவன் கெஞ்சுதலுக்குக் கர்த்தர் இரங்கினதும், அவன் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்தினதற்குமுன்னே பண்ணின அவனுடைய எல்லாப் பாவமும் துரோகமும், அவன் மேடைகளைக் கட்டி விக்கிரகத் தோப்புகளையும் சிலைகளையும் ஸ்தாபித்த இடங்களும், ஓசாயின் பிரபந்தத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

அவர்களுடைய முன்னோர்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது மக்களையும் தமது வாசஸ்தலத்தையும் காப்பதற்கு இரக்கமுள்ளவராக இருந்ததால், அவர்களிடத்திற்குத் தம்முடைய பிரதிநிதிகளை ஏற்கனவே அனுப்பினார்.

அவர்களது முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களை எச்சரிக்கப் பல்வேறு தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் அனுப்பினார். கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்காகவும், தமது ஆலயத்துக்காகவும் வருத்தப்பட்டார். அதனால் அவர் இவ்வாறுச் செய்தார். கர்த்தர் அவர்களையும், ஆலயத்தையும் அழித்துவிட விரும்பவில்லை.
