மறுநாளிலே சவுல் ஜனங்களை மூன்று படையாக வகுத்து, கிழக்கு வெளுத்துவரும் ஜாமத்தில் பாளயத்திற்குள் வந்து வெயில் ஏறும்வரைக்கும் அம்மோனியரை முறிய அடித்தான்; தப்பினவர்களில் இரண்டுபேராகிலும் சேர்ந்து ஓடிப்போகாதபடி எல்லாரும் சிதறிப் போனார்கள்.

மறுநாள் தனது வீரர்களை சவுல் மூன்று குழுக்களாக பிரித்தான். சூரிய உதயத்தின் போது, சவுலும், அவனது வீரர்களும் அம்மோனிய கூடாரங்களுக்குள் புகுந்து மதியத்திற்குள் அம்மோனியர்களைத் தோற்கடித்தனர். இரண்டு பேராகிலும் சேர்ந்து ஓடிப்போகாதபடி அவர்கள் பல திசைகளிலும் சிதறிப்போனார்கள்.
