நீங்களெல்லாரும் அந்நியபாஷைகளைப் பேசும்படி விரும்புகிறேன்; ஆகிலும், அந்நியபாஷைகளில் பேசுகிறவன் சபைக்கு பக்திவிருத்தி உண்டாகும்படிக்கு அர்த்தத்தையும் சொல்லாவிட்டால், தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ் சொல்லுகிறவன் அவனிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆதலால் நீங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ்சொல்லுகிறவர்களாகவேண்டுமென்று அதிகமாய் விரும்புகிறேன்.

நீங்களெல்லோரும் அந்நிய மொழிகளைப் பேசும்படி விரும்புகிறேன்; ஆனாலும், அந்நிய மொழிகளில் பேசுகிறவன் சபைக்குப் பக்திவளர்ச்சி உண்டாகும்படிக்கு அர்த்தத்தையும் சொல்லாவிட்டால், தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறவன் அவனைவிட மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆதலால் நீங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறவர்களாகவேண்டுமென்று அதிகமாக விரும்புகிறேன்.

நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் வேறு மொழிகளில் பேசும் வரத்தைԔபெற வேண்டுமென விரும்புகிறேன். ஆனால் நீங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்வதை இன்னும் அதிகமாய் விரும்புகிறேன். வேறு மொழிகளில் பேசுகிற மனிதனைவிட தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லக்கூடிய மனிதன் சிறந்தவன். வேறு மொழிகளைப் பேசும் மனிதன் அவற்றை விளக்கிக் கூற முடியுமானால் அவனும் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்கிறவனை ஒத்தவன். அப்போது சபையும் அவன் கூறுவதன் மூலமாகப் பயன் அடைய முடியும்.
